ACT II

Milwaukee Rep’s ACT II program started in 2016 as part of the conversation around our World Premiere production of American Song. After each performance, a member of the community provided a 5-minute response to the themes of the show. This was followed by small group discussion circles in the Quadracci Powerhouse lobby. Milwaukee Rep collaborated with the Zeidler Group to develop the program and trained volunteers from the Zeidler Group facilitated the discussion circles. More than 3,000 patrons participated sharing, listening and learning with fellow audience members.

ACT II was so powerful that we have continued to incorporate it into our programming around one production each season. We have worked with the Zeidler Group to look at different models of listening and learning including hosted community dinners around our production of Ayad Akhtar’s Disgraced.
